We were very lucky to receive a visit from the newly appointed Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Sam Crooks, who came to EVS to watch our Year 6 children perform in Cinderella Rockerfella. We would like to thank the Mayor for this visit and we look forward to welcoming him back to EVS soon!
On Tuesday the educational theatre group Ginificent performed a fantastic road safety play to Years 3, 4, 5 and the Year 6 Junior Road Safety Officers. Also in the audience were Corrinne Randall, Georgina Longley and Emma James from the Transport Strategy Team at Bucks County Council.
The performance was set in a courtroom with two actors playing a variety of different characters. Salman H from Year 5 described the set as realistic saying, “It felt like we were in a real court!”. Emily M and Eddie A’s favourite character was Michael Thomas, “He was funny and taught us about not being distracted when crossing roads”. Millie B and Salman enjoyed appearing on stage, although Salman was unsure about wearing a wig! All enjoyed learning a road safety rap with actions, “It was cool and helpful with a catchy beat”.

Due to Ofsted’s guidelines regarding breadth of curriculum for all children, we decided to give each Year group an opportunity to experience activities they may not have had the chance to take part in before.
All the children from Year 4 took part in an ”Experience Afternoon” on Friday 28th June with a variety of different activities to enjoy.
There was fun on the Bouncy Castle, Gaelic football, Cricket, Football with MK Dons, Korfball, a Musical Theatre session and a chance to learn Streetdance. They all had a fantastic time with smiles on their faces.
