This evening our boys football team took part in the MK Schools Footballs finals at Woughton on the Green. Due to winning our regional football league, we contested the Finals against the other top seven schools.
The finalists were split into two groups and we won against Monkston 2-1, Abbeys 2-0 and Green Park 2-0. As a result the boys progressed to the semi finals to play against Middleton. After a very tight game, with neither team scoring, the game went to penalties. The scores remained level after three penalties and we won in sudden death.
In the final we played a very good Long Meadow team. The children were exhausted after their efforts in previous matches but showed extreme determination and thanks to a winning goal from Riber T, the boys won 1-0.
These children have been unbelievable this year and have been such a credit to the school. They have gone throughout the whole year playing over twenty matches unbeaten and have only conceded ONE goal.
In winning this evenings Champions League trophy, they become the first Emerson Valley team to win this trophy.
