The admissions for Emerson Valley school are all coordinated by Milton Keynes council. The website for this is:

The council website will give you the opportunity to apply for a school place and details the admissions procedures we follow as a school.

The defined area/catchment for our school is Emerson Valley and Furzton.  

As we are a Junior school, children start our school in Year 3. If you are looking for a school for Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 please see the website for Merebrook Infant School one of the infant schools that feeds us and is also part of the 5 Dimension Trust.  

Children are also admitted to other year groups throughout the year as long as there are places available. 

The Local Authority School Admissions Team co-ordinate all school admissions. They process all applications and will contact you to let you know if a place has been allocated.    

Appeals

The 5 Dimension trust manage the appeal process for Emerson Valley School. Parents have the right to an Independent Appeals Panel if their child is declined admission to the school.

Should you wish to appeal against the decision not to offer your child a place at Emerson Valley School, please email office@EVS5D.com providing the name of the child, date of birth, and email address where the form to appeal can be sent.

Timelines for appeals:  

• You have 20 school days to submit a written appeal following an unsuccessful application for Year 3 in the normal round of applications.  
• Hearing Window: For applications made on time, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for submitting appeals.
• Notice of Hearing: Parents must be given at least 10 school days' notice of the appeal hearing.

Timelines for In-Year Admission Appeals:

• For appeals outside the normal admission round (moving schools during the year), panels must hear appeals within 30 school days of them being submitted
