STEAM Week in 4AM
Year 4 have taken trains as their theme this week and have been busy using their technology skills to make trains and carriages and learning about air resistance.
As part of our STEAM week activities Josh Wheeler, who studied theoretical particle astrophysics at the University of Nottingham, came into school on Wednesday to talk to the children about a journey through space and time. He talked to Year 3, Year 5 and Year 6 about the big bang, how our star formed and how planets were made. Josh also explained how astrophysicists know how long the sun has left to burn – a burning question from Year 5. He ended his talk with a very full Q&A session from each year group. The children and staff enjoyed Josh’s talk and we would like to thank him for coming in to talk to our very inquisitive children.
