The Governors have designated Emerson Valley School a ‘school uniform’ school. All children are expected to wear school uniform/dress as this improves attitudes and mentally tunes our children into school each day.
The uniform / dress consists of grey trousers / skirt, a dark red, bordeaux school sweatshirt or cardigan and a White polo or school shirt. Optionally, girls can wear a red check gingham summer dress and Year 6 children may wear a black school sweatshirt or cardigan. All children will be expected to wear indoor shoes ( plimsolls or shoes - not slippers ) to protect our fully carpeted school.
The dress for PE is a school jade T-shirt and black school shorts or black cycling shorts. Indoor PE is with bare feet. Trainers are needed for outdoor PE. Navy blue plain tracksuits can also be worn for outdoor games. Your child needs to ensure that they have PE kit on the right day, a black pen to write with, named uniform and indoor shoes.
Jewellery should not be worn, apart from watches and earring studs / sleepers ( maximum of one per ear ), which must be removed for PE or covered with micropore tape from home. This is the child’s responsibility. We ask that all clothing is named, to avoid the mountain of lost property which occurs.
Buying Uniform
School uniform is available to purchase from school on Tuesday mornings 8.30am – 10.30am and Thursday afternoons 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
In addition to this, an order form is available to download here or is available from the school office.
Orders can be sent in to school at any time (with money, cheques payable to Emerson Valley School) in a sealed envelope, clearly marked uniform. Uniform will then be sent to your child the following Tuesday or Thursday.
Please note that the only uniform that you need to purchase from school is the school sweatshirt/cardigan and PE T-shirt. Polo shirts, track suits, book bags and PE bags are available from school but are not compulsory. All other parts of the uniform can be purchased from out of school.
