On Friday 22nd January, 8 pupils from Year 6 competed in the MK Basketball Finals. This was a tournament at Stantonbury Campus against 7 other teams. Our team was Chloe, Sapphire, Charlie, Taylor, Callum, Kadessi, Lloyd and Malik.
In the 1st round we won 3 games and drew 1 match. We therefore qualified for the semi-final and in the semi final we scored 2 baskets and won 4-0. We were so excited about being in the FINAL for the first time ever. We played extremely well as a team and won the last match scoring an amazing 5 baskets and winning 10-0, becoming the champions of MK.
This showed how good our attack and defence was! We were presented with the large WINNING trophy, which will have Emerson Valley School engraved on it (yes!!) We all received a medal and tickets from EJ Harrison, who is the point guard for MK Lions!! We would like to say thank you to Morgan W for helping us to get to the final and supporting us at this event.
Also a special thank you to Harry Turner, from Shenley Brook End School, for being our coach. Thank you to Miss Bundy and Mr Robertson and all the parents for supporting us and sharing in our memorable winning event! GO EVS!
