Year 6 had fun learning how to make pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.
On Thursday, we held our annual Pet Care Day at EVS. It was another fabulous day, where parents generously gave up their time to accompany their children into school with their pets.
We had all kinds of visitors from dogs to tarantulas! We cannot wait until we do it all again next year!
As you may already know, we had an Australian day! £250 of the money that we have raised from this event will go towards planting food trees for koalas and we will also adopt a koala called Emerald Downes Mary (it sounds a bit like Emerson Valley!). Any extra money that we raise will be sent to support a hospital for injured Koalas. Every class has had a vote and we reached this conclusion.
Thank you for all your support.

We’re excited to have been selected to participate in Fishkeeper Fry 2020, a national learning programme developed by Maidenhead Aquatics, from the beginning of January to help teach children about the joys and benefits of fishkeeping whilst bringing some of their key science themes to life for them in the classroom.
Supported by our local Maidenhead Aquatics store, we will be following an 8-week programme during school time, designed to teach the children how to set up an aquarium properly and care for their fish in the classroom. All the equipment for the programme and all the learning resources have been provided to us completely free of charge by Maidenhead Aquatics and their supporting partner Fluval. You can find out more about the programme and what the children will be getting up to here: https://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/fishkeeper-fry-parents.
